Fix '**' parsing within a PathPattern segment

Prior to this commit, a regexp path segment ending with a double wilcard
(like "/path**") would be incorrectly parsed as a double wildcard
segment ("/**").

This commit fixes the incorrect parsing.

Fixes gh-35339
